Israeli Strike Targets Air Defense Radar Site Near Iran’s Natanz Nuclear Facility

Israeli fighter jets launched three missiles at an air defense radar site near Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, located near Isfahan, in an overnight strike on Thursday. The missiles were fired from outside of Iran, which may correlate with shrapnel found in Iraq this morning, thought to be part of a two-stage standoff munition. According to an initial assessment, the strike was described as “very limited” and successfully took out the nuclear facility’s radar site.

U.S. to Sanction Israeli Military Unit for Alleged Human Rights Violations

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to announce sanctions against the Israel Defense Forces “Netzah Yehuda” battalion for alleged “human rights violations” in Judea & Samaria. This would mark the first time the U.S. has imposed sanctions on an Israeli military unit. The sanctions are set to ban the battalion and its members from receiving any kind of U.S. military assistance or training. This move comes under a 1997 law prohibiting U.S. foreign aid and Defense Department training programs from going to foreign security, military, and police units credibly alleged to have committed human rights violations.

  IDF Updates

  The soldiers of the IDF, Shin Bet and MAGAV are conducting counter terrorism operation in the Noor al-Shams area (Judea and Samaria aka West Bank); the security forces eliminated ten terrorists, arrested eight wanted persons, uncovered explosives, located and confiscated many weapons. The wanted persons and the confiscated weapons were transferred to the security forces for further investigation.
