The NYPD is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Far Rockaway early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting inside of 22-30 Dix Ave. at 6:34 a.m. on Aug. 1. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 35-year-old man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his torso.
EMS arrived at the scene and transported the man to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending proper family notification.
Police sources say the assailant is a dark-skinned male about 5 feet 7 inches tall and was last seen wearing all white clothing.
There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
