Woodmere: Nassau County PD Reports the Arrest of a Brooklyn Man Charged with 4 Local Burglaries

According to Detectives, an Off-Duty Nassau County Police Officer, while driving home from work observed a Burglary in progress at S & S Woodmere Inc, located at 1064 Broadway. The officer, while still in uniform, exited his vehicle and approached the grocery store. The suspect exited the store through the broken front glass door and attempted to flee. The officer was able to grab the suspect and a struggle ensued. After a violent struggle, the officer was able to take the defendant, Anthony Livieri, 49, of 2363 Atlantic Avenue, into custody. The officer and the defendant both suffered injuries during the arrest and were both transported to area hospitals for treatment.

A further investigation determined the defendant was also responsible for the following commercial burglaries:

11/24/20 at the Hempstead Tobacco Shop located at 74A Main Street in Hempstead

12/9/20 at the Ultra Gas located at 360 North Central Avenue in North Valley Stream

12/11/20 at the Speedway Gas Station located at 800 Jericho Turnpike in Westbury

The Defendant Anthony Livieri has been charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, three (3) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, four (4) counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, three (3) counts of Possession of Burglar Tools and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Mineola.
