A very visibly Jewish man was punched in the face and screamed at “you dirty Jew” in what appears to be a gang assault. The incident took place Thursday evening at around 8:15 PM on on Empire Blvd near Albany Ave, in Crown Heights.
The 25-year-old male was punched to the ground by one the assailants and heard them yelling “You dirty Jew” before they fled the scene.

He called police and was treated by EMS at the 71st precinct. The Hate Crime Task Force is currently looking for the five male blacks described by the victim. ADL has since offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Did you know how Crown Heights got its name? Apparently it has been a black neighborhood for so long that it was originally called “Crow Heights”, since crows are black. Later in correctness required that “Crow” be changed to “Crown”.
