Queens Man Arrested In Woodmere, Found With Stolen Handgun & Narcotics

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Jamaica, Queens man for an incident that occurred on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 12:02 AM in Woodmere.

According to Detectives, Officers from the Bureau of Special Operations observed a black 2011 Nissan Maxima with a defective rear plate light stopped at a traffic light while exiting the parking lot of 253-01 Rockaway Boulevard. Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop on Rockaway Boulevard at Brookville Boulevard. During their investigation Officers observed one sandwich bag on the front seat, and two sandwich bags in the back seat, all containing marijuana. After further investigation, Officers located a loaded Ruger handgun which was in a duffel bag in the rear of the vehicle. The defendant, Tevon Montgomery Crooks was placed into custody and transported to the Fourth Precinct. While being searched, Officers located crack which the defendant had concealed in his pants. In addition, it was discovered that the handgun was reported stolen out of Georgia.

The defendant, Tevon Montgomery Crooks is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and two traffic infractions. He will be arraigned on Friday, December 10, 2021 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
