On Sunday, May 29, 2022 at approximately 2:45 PM the Lawrence-Cedarhurst fire department was alerted to a report of a garage on fire at 17 Bernard St. in North Lawrence.
The first responders are scene noticed a fire in a detached garage with exposure issues to a 1.5-story private home. Two lines were stretched, 1 was put into operation and the fire was extinguished quickly. Fire fighters on scene began inspecting the garage thoroughly to detect hidden fires.
All hands on deck: Mutual aid was provided by Woodmere FD, Inwood FD, Long Beach FD, Valley Stream FD, Elmont FD, Hewlett FD & others.
The scene was under the command of Deputy Chief Beilinson.
Thankfully no injuries reported at this time. We thank our local fire fighters as always, especially on Memorial Day.
