Day One Overview:

Arrival ceremony: Yesterday at 3:44 PM IDT, President Biden landed in Tel Aviv, Israel for the 10th time in his career and delivered remarks at an arrival ceremony on the tarmac of Ben Gurion Airport where the President “reaffirmed the unshakable commitment of the United States to Israel’s security.”

Iron Beam: From there, the President engaged in a briefing on the state of play with Iron Dome and a new laser-enabled missile defense system called Iron Beam, which is currently in development and will involve a partnership between the United States and Israel.

Yad Vashem: Following the briefing, President Biden travelled to Yad Vashem to pay his respects to the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust and to meet with two Holocaust survivors.

Strategic High-Level Dialogue on Technology: Earlier in the day, President Biden and Prime Minister Lapid announced the launch of a Joint U.S.-Israel Strategic High-Level Dialogue on Technology, which was tasked with establishing a U.S.-Israel technological partnership on critical and emerging technologies and solutions to global challenges: pandemic preparedness, climate change, implementation of artificial intelligence, and trusted technology ecosystems.
