A man was stabbed in a terror attack in Jerusalem on Tuesday. The man was taken to hospital in moderate condition. The attacker was shot by an armed civilian. The hero, who likely saved many lives, has been identified.
Meshi Ben Ami, a father and Ynet photographer, noticed a commotion while driving by a Jerusalem city bus Tuesday afternoon. As Meshi loaded his gun a terrorist ran at him; Meshi immediately fired one bullet at the stabber thwarting the attack.
Prime Minister Yair Lapid hailed Ben Ami in a statement. “I congratulate the Ynet photographer who happened to be at the scene and acted resolutely to neutralize the terrorist and prevent injury to other people”.
“We will not allow terrorism to rear its head and disrupt the routine of our lives. We will settle scores with anyone who tries to harm innocent civilians”.
Ynet photographer Meshi Ben Ami who shot the Palestinian stabber near Ramot told Kan: "I got out of the car, loaded my gun and realized it was a terror attack. The stabber came to me, I did not hesitate and fired one bullet at him."
