Rav Shaul Alter Shlit”a made a historic visit to NY, and spent an uplifting Shabbos with thousands of Chassidim. He was greeted by a massive crowd at JFK Airport and then went to Boro Park, where he spent hours visiting Mosdos, Yeshivos,Chassidim and leading Rabbonim.

At each stop, Rav Shaul delivered a short schmooze to all the boys and bochurim, inspiring them to be mechazek in their torah and Yiddishkeit. The Rosh yeshiva also paid a visit to the shtiebel and 19th Avenue and 50th Street.

Approximately 10,000 people joined Rav Shaul over Shabbos in Boro Park, and even more attended the packed Melavah Malkah, Motzai Shabbos.

The Rosh Yeshiva was born in Jerusalem to Tziporah, a daughter of R’ Avraham Mordechai Alter (son of R’ Moshe Betzalel Alter brother of Rebbe Avraham Mordechai Alter of Ger) and to R’ Pinchas Menachem Alter (Rosh Yeshivah of Sfas Emes Yeshivah and later to date Rebbe of the Ger Hasidic Dynasty.)

He is named after the grandfather of his mother Rabbi Shaul Moshe Zilberman. He studied in Imrei Emes Yeshivah in Bnei Brak, and afterward continued to learn under his father’s guidance in Sfas Emes Yeshivah where he was known as an outstanding student who finished the entire Talmud.
