Southwest Airlines faces growing criticism from the federal government for why the company lagged so far behind other carriers in recovering from the bad weather that hit the US.
Southwest canceled 2,500 flights on Wednesday after the 12,000 flights that had already been scrapped since Friday.
In a video that Southwest posted late Tuesday night, CEO Robert Jordan apologized and said Southwest would operate a reduced schedule for several days but hoped to be “back on track before next week.”
On the heels of wide-scale disruptions, we're working diligently to Safely recover our operation & accommodate displaced Customers & Crews. We know this is unacceptable & sincerely apologize.
