Updated: Victim in Bet Ha’Arava Junction Shooting Attack Passed Away

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Elan Ganeles hy”d.

Tragic Update: The 27-year-old Israeli has been declared dead following a shooting terror attack on route 90 near Jericho.

Emergency medical services administered CPR while transporting the victim to Mount Scotus Hospital in Jerusalem and continued CPR and other life-saving interventions but sadly were forced to declare their patient dead HY”D.

Ambassador Tom Nides has confirmed the victim as an American citizen.

IDF Statement: “Following the shooting attack, it was found that the terrorists opened fire toward Israeli vehicles on 3 occasions. An Israeli civilian was injured by one of the shootings and died from his wounds.

The terrorists later set their vehicles on fire. Israel Police forces arrived and following an exchange of fire, the terrorists fled the scene.

IDF & Police forces are conducting searches in the area and have set up road blocks and checkpoints.”

United Hatzalah volunteers are responding to a shooting attack at the Bet Ha’Arava Junction.

United Hatzalah volunteers performed CPR on a young man in his 20s injured in a shooting attack at Beit HaArava Junction.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Eilon Lubiner said: “Together with additional first responders, we performed CPR on a man in his 20s who suffered from gunshot wounds. He is now being evacuated to Hadassah Har HaZofim hospital in critical condition while undergoing continued resuscitation efforts.”

IDF closed roads in the area to locate the gunman.

A second car was hit by gunfire during the attack near Bet Ha’Arava Junction. They continued driving to the Almog Junction and reported to authorities. Chasdei Hashem, there were no injuries reported in the second car.
