Brand New “Blue Alert” System Initiated in Nassau to Protect Police Officers

Nassau County Police initiated a new “Blue Alert” system to help respond to violence against police officers.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said Similar to Amber Alerts and Weather Warnings, Blue Alert will issue statewide alerts about suspects at large involved in police assaults and shootings.

“This technology can help catch dangerous criminals and aid our Nassau County Police Department” said Blakeman.

This bill comes after an FBI report highlighted increased violence against police officers in 2021, including an alarming jump in police murders.

“When there is an attack on a police officer, and there is an active threat in our communities, the blue alert system will aid in apprehending a dangerous criminal and keep our officers safe,” New York Assemblyman Steve Stern said.

Nassau PBA 1st VP Kevin Mullick, Corresponding Secretary John Paterson, and former 1st VP Pete Paterson were on hand to celebrate the Blue Alert Bill being enacted into law. We thank NYS Assemblyman
Steve Stern for sponsoring this critical legislation!

“This is another crucial way to “Back The Blue” and show the dedicated officers we care for their wellfare,” said Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder.

  1. Classic Bruce taking credit for other people’s accomplishments while doing NOTHING to help US! This was Todd Kaminsky’s bill. Bruce, how about lowering taxes including the Atlantic Beach Bridge toll you raised?

  2. Love people who are big mouths when signing “anonymous”
Bruce Blakeman is awesome and doing a great job!

Regarding the bridge, toll hasn’t been raised in 20 years. Bridge quality is extremely poor and needs immediate repair to the tune of $20 million.

  3. Bruce blakemen very good. Happy price of bridge go up. It should be $10 to cross the bridge. The anonymous guy should pay $20 for being a democrat and for voting that piece of trash hocul for governor.

  4. Im glad Jobiden didn’t get involved with the bridge he would have knocked it down and forgotten to put it back up. And Blakeman has nothing todo with this. It’s the cheapsakes of town of Hempstead

  5. Bruce Blakeman is a disgrace. He promised he would lower the red light camera fees but has not. He wears a kippah to get our votes but then uses us as his personal piggy bank!

  6. The world around us is crazy. Anti Semitism is on a role and all some jews seem to do is pick at each other. Maybe look at the positives he introduced which will help keep people safe. And how can you expect hum to answer your calls he get hundreds a day, and no, just bc he has high traffic ticket doesnt make his account go higher. It helps them take car of our town. Maybe drive safe and you will not issues with the ticket prices. the prices arent ther to benefit you, rather its there to incourage you not to drive dangerously. maybe people should step down a notch and ignore the leftists and forget your ego and then the world might actually be a better place
