The IDF and ISA targeted the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization’s Northern Gaza Division Commanding Officer responsible for the rocket fire toward Israel in the past month; a senior operative and coordinator of terrorism in Judea and Samaria from Gaza; and the Secretary of the Military Council.
The Islamic Jihad is a terror organization responsible for firing 104 rockets at Israel over the past two weeks. Last night security forces eliminated three of their commanders behind the attacks.
The Islamic Jihad is responsible for more than 500 terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians, murdering and injuring hundreds of innocents.
Israel has the right to defend itself and will never stop protecting its citizens.
IDF Statement: “The IDF targeted ten weapon manufacturing sites and military compounds belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.
Overnight, IDF helicopters and fighter jets targeted weapon manufacturing sites, including rocket production workshops in Khan Yunis. In addition, fighter jets targeted a site used for manufacturing concrete for building terrorist tunnels.
Furthermore, six military compounds belonging to the Islamic Jihad were targeted, most of them were used as weapon warehouses and logistic infrastructures belonging to the terrorist organization.
Additionally, the IDF targeted a military post belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in southern Gaza.
The IDF targeted Khalil Bahitini, the senior operational officer of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. He was an imminent threat to the security of Israeli civilians.”
A short while ago, the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, conducted an operational situational assessment with IDF and ISA officials in the IDF HQ.
The forum discussed possible operational plans in accordance with the operational developments and the IDF. Communities in southern Israel were advised to stay near bomb shelters, and schools are closed Tuesday.
In the wake of imminent threats in the past minutes, the Israeli army has ordered the closure of roads leading to some cities in the south in fear of rockets from Gaza. Residents of Nahal Oz have received instructions to remain indoors.
