As a mental health professional, I strongly disagree. People should listen to mental health professionals who are licensed and trained in this field.
Self care is essential. Depriving kids of candy/ice cream to teach them a lesson about the horrific things going on in Israel will only hurt them psychologically. I don’t see any chinuch lesson. Please don’t follow this wrongheaded advice.
