Green Acres Mall on Lockdown Following Reports of Shooting [Updated]

Update: Police are still searching for a shoplifting suspect who fired a gun during a struggle with a security guard in a store in the mall. That led to all the stores in the mall going into a lockdown protocol and area schools briefly instituting lockout procedures.

The suspect was attempting to run off with dozens of stolen clothing he put on after being stopped by the guard, which led to the fired shots.

Ultimately, he got away without much of the stolen clothing, and police have since reopened the mall. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
