IDF says special forces have recovered the lifeless bodies of Eden Zacharia HY”D (27), and Ziv Dado HY”D (36) from deep inside the Gaza Strip.
27-year-old Eden was taken hostage from the Re’im music festival. 36-year-old CSM Ziv served as a logistics supervisor in the Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion. Both were kidnapped by Hamas during the massacre on October 7th.
During the operation to recover the bodies, Master Sgt. (res.) Gal Meir Eisenkot — the son of war cabinet minister Gadi Eisenkot — and Master Sgt. (res.) Eyal Meir Berkowitz were killed R”L. Additional soldiers were wounded in the operation.
IDF Statement following the recovery of their bodies: “Locating the missing and bringing the hostages home is a national mission. We are working with all security agencies, intelligence and operational means to fulfill it. MSG (Res.) Gal Meir Eisenkot and MSG (Res.) Eyal Meir Berkowitz fell in battle during the operations that enabled the location of Eden and Ziv’s bodies. Additional soldiers were injured. We send our heartfelt condolences to the Eisenkot and Berkowitz families and will continue to support them.”

Following an operation in Gaza, the IDF recovered the bodies of hostages Eden Zakaria and Ziv Dado and brought them back to Israel.
