An explosion demolished a building and killed three IDF soldiers near Khan Younis on Tuesday morning. The IDF said that the operation killed 30 Hamas terrorists, out of about 10,000 since the war began.
The total number of IDF soldiers killed on the ground offensive in Gaza has now reached 232 casualties R”L.
The soldiers in Tuesday’s incident were identified as:
Lt. Col. (res.) Netanel Yaacov Elkouby HY”D, 36, the commander of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade’s 630th Battalion, from Haifa.
Maj. (res.) Yair Cohen HY”D, 30, an acting company commander in the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade’s 630th Battalion, from Ramat Gan.
Sgt. First Class (res.) Ziv Chen HY”D, 27, of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade’s 630th Battalion, from Kfar Saba .
Two other soldiers were injured as well. May the injured have a speedy recovery. May their memories and sacrifice forever be a blessing. May we only hear Beusros Tovos.
Talks are expected to begin today between Israeli officials and members from Egypt, Qatar and the US. The discussion is likely to center around a humanitarian effort to halt the war and release the remaining hostages.
US President Biden has made it clear to Netanyahu that a six week ceasefire is imperative, and that Israel cannot attack Rafah without a plan to protect civilians. Netanyahu has dismissed the idea of a ceasefire. The countries meeting with Israeli officials today, hope that Israel’s willingness to meet means that some sort of negotiation can still be made.
