Reb Henoch Junik was previously in the Israeli army and told his wife he would go to help in Israel if ever he was needed.
When Oct 7th happened, he went over to Eretz Yisroel to help, leaving behind his wife and six kids. Recently, he was told he had a three-week leave coming up. He wanted his family to join him in Eretz Yisroel as he hadn’t seen them in over three months, but seven tickets on a reservist salary wasn’t possible.
One night, he and his friends heard that benefactors were giving away a free meal for the reservists in a restaurant. The group happily went over. Reb Junik went to the back to get mashka for a l’chaim and passed by the two benefactors funding the meal.
Being the mentsch he is, he thanked them for providing the food for himself and his friends.food for himself and his friends. The men told him to take some home for his wife. He told them he would, but his wife and six kids were back in the States. They asked him when was the last time he saw them, so he told them his story.
The men then told him they’d pay for their tickets and a place to stay while they were visiting, in addition to giving them spending money. He was informed that he should reach out to their treasurer and tell his wife to pack her bags! And this is the neis right here (in the video below)! The miracle of a family joined together after three months apart brought about by the immense love that the Jewish people have for one another.
