[Press Release: Assemblyman Ari Brown]

In a commendable display of dedication and valor, Auxiliary Police Inspector Danny Gluck, Fourth Precinct Inspector Vincent Boden, and County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder are being hailed for their heroic actions during an incident on March 12th.

“On this fateful day, a group of Palestinian agitators sought to harass the Jewish community in the Village of Cedarhurst, protesting an event at the Young Israel of Lawrence Cedarhurst. The event aimed to educate individuals on making Aliyah (moving to Israel) and purchasing property that belongs to the people of Israel”, said Assemblyman Ari Brown.

Auxiliary Police Inspector Danny Gluck, a stalwart member of our community, played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of residents during this tense situation. His unwavering commitment to duty and swift response were instrumental in maintaining order and protecting the well-being of those in attendance. Inspector Gluck’s, dedicated forces, the largest auxiliary police unit in the county, recently returned to Cedarhurst after having been temporarily replaced. “Unwavering dedication, bravery and loyalty from the entire unit”, said Brown.

Fourth Precinct Inspector Vincent Boden demonstrated exceptional leadership in coordinating the response to the threat, showcasing his dedication to preserving peace and fostering a secure environment for all residents. He immediately gathered together his officers, the K-9 unit, and mounted police for an all-encompassing protective effort.

County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, whose leadership sets the standard for law enforcement in our county, oversaw the operation with strategic acumen. His decisive actions
and commitment to public safety was evident throughout the incident, reinforcing the trust the community places in his capable hands.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Inspector Danny Gluck, Inspector Vincent Boden, Commissioner Patrick Ryder and all of the police and auxiliary police officers for their bravery, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our community. Their heroic efforts on March 12, 2024, exemplify the values we hold dear, and their dedication is a testament to the strength and unity of our local law enforcement”, said Brown.

  1. These white trash thugs threatened to “lock up” Five Towns residents for exercising their First Amendment rights. That’s shameful. None of the pro-terrorist protesters were threatened. And they put their hands on frum women too.

As for the Auxiliary Police, they might think they’re law enforcement and wear a fake Auxiliary Police raid jacket and badge to shul, but they have no more powers than anyone else and need to get over themselves. They are totally useless.

  2. Well said! The way they treated us — the pro-police, pro-family crowd — was disgusting. At least the NYPD respects communities. Shame on Blakeman and Ryder.

  3. The Auxiliary Police have no power. They’re told in training that they are never to pull out the handcuffs and pepper spray they have, and legally are not allowed to carry batons, guns or tasers or make any arrests or give any summonses.

They’re just a group of people who got rejected from every real police department and want to look like they have power.

Despite their claims, they are not NY state peace officers.

  4. “Heroes”??? It’s scary how angry, morbidly obese, and aggressive those fat old men were. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Can’t believe our tax dollars are paying for this.

  5. Such a chilul hashem – i want to renounce my Judaism, and move to Hollywood to become a movie star and win an Oscar.
