The Five Towns welcomed released hostage, Mia Schem and her mother, this week. They spent Shabbos with Young Israel of Woodmere.

Mia was one of eight hostages freed after 54 days in captivity on November 30th, as part of 105 hostages released during the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Mia went to Washington DC to attend President Biden’s State of the Union address and used the opportunity to press American lawmakers to do everything they can to help free the other captives held by Gaza terrorists.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who also met Mia and her mother, expressed the following: “Mia is one of the most courageous individuals I have ever met. Mia, may you be healed with your faith and the love of so many.”
