Mi Kiamcha: Time to Repay The Favor

A United Hatzalah volunteer entered a Burger King and ordered a chicken meal. A few minutes later, his name was called, and his meal was ready. When he arrived at the counter to pick up the order, he noticed that the food was much larger than he had paid for. He asked the worker at the counter, “Are you sure this is the meal I ordered? Because I didn’t order so much.”

The worker shyly responded with a smile, “It’s from me.”

The volunteer gave him an “I don’t understand” look.

“You performed CPR on my father two years ago and saved his life,” said the worker quietly. “This is the least I can do to thank you for saving my father’s life.”

After a short inquiry about the details, the volunteer vaguely remembered which call the worker was referring to. After all, it was two years ago, and he has responded to hundreds of other emergency incidents since then.

Without a doubt, the volunteer was touched. “I thank God for the privilege given to me to help others.”
