According to The New York Times, concerns have arisen among pro-Israel individuals due to recent statements made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who is currently campaigning for his former position.
Trump’s remarks, made during an interview at Mar-a-Lago in Florida with Israeli reporters, suggest that Israel must swiftly conclude the conflict in Gaza to avoid damaging its reputation.
Trump emphasized the urgency of achieving peace and ending the ongoing conflict. However, he did not address the issue of the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip during the interview, as reported by Israel Hayom and noted by The New York Times.
Trump also pointed out that he believes it’s a “PR disaster” that Israel has been releasing so many war videos of collapsing buildings and gunfire. “It certainly does not make Israel look good, maybe they think it makes them look tough, but I don’t think so” Trump concluded.
