A man walked into the local Dunkin’ Donuts store on Rockaway Tpke. at around 1:45 PM, on Tuesday afternoon and threw a tantrum. The individual tried to purchase a bunch of gift cards with multiple credit cards but kept getting declined for transactions. When the workers told him that they can’t let him have the gift cards, the man starting yelling and screaming and throwing things.
He threw a bottle of coke at the workers, began reaching over the desk, and threw one of the computers to the floor. Everyone backed out of the store as this was happening and 911 was called immediately. He then ran out of the store, where there was a car outside waiting to drive him away. The car was silver and had no real plates. The plates appeared to be placeholder plates. “It was pretty scary. The guy was going nuts”, said Yehuda M., who was in the store when the incident took place.
Police arrived at the scene two minutes after the man got away by car. Police are currently looking through footage, speaking to Dunkin workers and looking for the perpetrator. He is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, and about 5″7.
