PSEG Advisory: Strong Winds and Rain Forecasted

0

A wind advisory is in effect this afternoon and evening with strong winds, rain and lightning expected. PSEG Long Island is monitoring the weather and we are prepared for the possibility of tree limbs falling on wires and causing power outages.

Our crews will be ready to respond to any outages safely and as quickly as possible. We urge you to secure any loose outdoor objects, including decorations. Be sure to charge mobile devices ahead of time and have flashlights handy.

Please remain indoors if you see repair crews. If you must speak with them, please wear a mask and practice physical distancing.

After a storm, we must first assess damage to determine the time and resources needed to restore power. Before we can provide an accurate Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) you may first see “Assessing Damage” in a message you receive from us or on the online outage map. We will provide an ETR as soon as possible and, because it is an estimate, an ETR could change.

Be sure to download our mobile app to report an outage and track progress on the MyPower Map. Visit us online for storm preparedness tips.
