Nassau Police commissioner Patrick Ryder has been facing backlash after blaming the lack of diversity in his police department on Black and Hispanic “broken homes.” Of course, that was enough to send the “Race Police” after him & demand he resign.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder has since apologized, and informed reporters on Friday that he serves at the pleasure of the county executive, Laura Curran, and will remain on the job “as long as she has me.”
In the interim many locals who have gained tremendously from Patricks constant involvement in the community, have come to defend and stand by him.
I have full confidence in Commissioner Ryder’s leadership of the Police Department, and he will be staying in his position.
