According to most major news organizations Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul won last night’s election for NY Governor, despite a strong challange from Republican Lee Zeldin.
“I’m deeply honored to be elected Governor of the State of New York, tonight we made history” she said. Hochul will be the state’s first female ever elected as Governor.

Although most news outlets have officially called race for Gov. Hochul, Republican challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin has not yet conceded.
Zeldin spoke last night with much hope as many more ballots and votes were still yet to be counted. “There’s over 1.4 million Election Day votes that are still out. It’s gonna be a little frustrating for the members of the media who didn’t want us ever to be in contention.”
