Benjamin Netanyahu was sworn in as Israel’s new Prime Minister, as 63 members of the coalition voted in favor of the new government and 54 voted against it.
Netanyahu’s new coalition is considered to be the most right-wing in the country’s history and Netanyahu’s sixth term as Israel’s PM. Netanyahu is Israel’s longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of the state.
Netanyahu has served as the Prime Minister of Israel since 2009, with a brief interruption in 2019-2021. He is a member of the Likud party and has previously held the positions of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, and Leader of the Opposition. Netanyahu is known for his strong stance on national security and his efforts to strengthen Israel’s international relationships.
Right before being sworn in as Israel’s new Prime Minister, Netanyahu Tweeted a Birchas Shehechayanu, thanking G-D for the opportunity.
