BDE: Father & Son Tragically Murdered in Huwara Over Shabbos

In another heart-wrenching tragedy, Klal Yisrael mourns the loss of two innocent lives, Silas (Shai) Nigerker HY”D and his son, Aviad Nir HY”D. Their lives were brutally and senselessly taken in a Palestinian terror attack that occurred in Huwara over Shabbos.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his condolences, saying, “I send my condolences to the family of the two murdered, father and son, whose lives were cut short in such a cruel and criminal way during Shabbat. The security forces are working tirelessly to find the murderer and come to terms with him, just as we have done with all the murderers so far.”

The loss of loved ones is a burden no one should ever bear, let alone in such a tragic and abrupt manner. Silas Nigerker, aged 60, and his 29-year-old son, Aviad Nir, were not just victims of an unspeakable act of violence; they were beloved members of their community in Ashdod, a father, and a son, whose futures were cut short R”L.

“In their lives and in their deaths, they were not separated,” Ashdod Mayor Dr. Yehiel Lasry said. “All of Ashdod is mourning this evening, after the Shabbat murder of a father and son, residents of the city, in a horrible shooting attack which stole their lives in such a cruel and criminal fashion.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog responded, “This was a sad Shabbat, which ended with great pain, after two people, a father and son, were murdered in a serious terror attack in Huwara. I am sure that the IDF and security forces will lay hands on the despicable murderer. We must not let terror defeat us.”

Yishai Fleisher: “Shai and Aviad were murdered by a Jihadist this Shabbat in Hawara, Samaria. They were visiting from Ashdod and were getting their car cleaned when a terrorist shot them from point blank range.

Such a cowardly and disgusting act – and a shame on the Arab-Pali-Muslim world – of whom many are totally against this barbarism. The murderer will be caught. Israel, and Jewish building in the heartland, will only be strengthened as a result of this.

May Hashem comfort the family and give strength to the nation of Israel.”

May Klal Yisrael see no more pain. Hamakim Yinacheim Eschem.
