Overnight, IDF commando soldiers used the “Iron Sting” weapon system for the first time and targeted a military post used by the Hamas terrorist organization to launch attacks against Israel.
Additionally, overnight, IDF naval forces used the “Saar 6” class corvette to target a Hamas weapons manufacturing facility for the first time in this war.
The IDF is also set to deploy the “Iron Beam” defense system, which can significantly boost the country’s air defense.
The IDF will continue to strike terrorist infrastructure throughout the Gaza Strip and ensure the security of all Israeli civilians.
Hamas continued hammering Israel with rockets over Shabbos, with many being intercepted by the Iron Dome. Some impacts were reported but bechasdei Hashem no injuries reported. Hezbollah also launched multiple rockets from Lebanon into Israel. IDF responded with tank fire. The northern front is becoming increasingly tense.
The IDF reportedly struck Aleppo airport putting it out of service after 2 rockets were fired into the Golan Heights from Syria.
Ground forces have not officially begun, although initial raids on the ground reportedly occurred in the last 24 hours to gain intelligence on the whereabouts of the 100 – 150 captives. The army is said to be in its “final stages” of mobilizing hundreds of thousands of reservists.
Based on precise IDF and ISA intelligence, IDF aircraft neutralized Ali Qadi, a company commander in Hamas’ “Nukhba” commando force, who led the brutal terror attack against Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip last weekend (October 7th). In 2005, Ali was apprehended after kidnapping and murdering Israeli civilians and was released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke to President Joe Biden Motzei Shabbos for the fifth time since the start of the war that began last week with the brutal Hamas assault on southern Israel.
The US Embassy in Israel issued a statement over the weekend urging all US citizens who wish to leave Israel to take advantage of charter flights “while they’re available.”
