HY”D: Three Murdered in Jerusalem Terror Attack R”L

Horrific: Three Yidden were R”L murdered this morning in a terror attack in Jerusalem; six others were injured. At around 7:40 a.m., two terrorists got out of a vehicle on Weizman Street at the main entrance to the capital & opened fire at people at a bus stop.

Two off-duty soldiers & an armed civilian in the area returned fire, killing the two terrorists.

The victims have been identified:

– HaRav Elimelech Wasserman HY”D, 73, a Chashuv Dayan in Belz.
– Mrs. Chana Ifirgan HY”D, 67, a beloved principal of a school in Beit Shemesh.
– Mrs. Livia Dickman HY”D, 24, a newlywed pregnant teacher at the Derech Emunah school.

MDA’s director-general Eli Bin tells the Kan public broadcaster that another five people are seriously wounded in the attack.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Moshe Levy who was one of the first responders at the scene on Shazar Street said: “The shooting incident took place at a bus stop just outside of the city. Together with other responders, I treated four people. Two people were in critical condition, and two other people were in moderate condition suffering from gunshot wounds. In addition, there were a number of people who were treated for emotional shock and psychological distress by the Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit. At this time, all of the injured have been transported from the scene to the hospital.”

Please Daven for Shoshana Bracha bas Rivka Yehudit, A girl from Neve Ya’akov who was injured in the attack and is now undergoing surgery.

The attackers were named as brothers Murad Namr, 38, and Ibrahim Namr, 30, from East Jerusalem. They were both previously jailed for terror activities and are were both shot dead following the attack.

While speaking with Blinken, Netanyahu referenced today’s Hamas terror attack in Jerusalem, which killed three Israelis, saying:

“This is the same Hamas that carried out the Oct 7 massacre. It tries to murder us everywhere. I swore to eliminate Hamas, and nothing will stop us.”

Additionally, in another incident, a soldier was lightly hurt in a ramming attack near the settlement of Beka’ot, in the northern Jordan Valley. Arab terrorist driving the vehicle shot and severely wounded.

Statement from PM Netanyahu following the attacks: “My wife Sarah and I send our condolences from the bottom of our hearts to the families of those murdered in the attack in Jerusalem. We all pray for the peace of the wounded.

The quick reaction of two fighters and a civilian who eliminated the terrorists prevented an even more serious attack. I salute them.

All Hamas terrorists are mortal – in Jerusalem, Gaza, Judea and Samaria – everywhere.

I appreciate the fact that both fighters and the civilian acted quickly on the ground. The government headed by me will continue expanding the distribution of weapons to citizens. This is a measure that proves itself time and time again in the war against murderous terrorism.”
