A stabbing incident early Sunday morning in Queens has resulted in at least three fatalities, with three individuals in critical condition. Additionally, two police officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries as they were slashed during the incident and were subsequently transported to Jamaica Hospital.
The incident unfolded at 467 Beach 22nd Street, situated between Brookhaven Avenue and Elk Drive in Far Rockaway, with police responding to a reported stabbing around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple victims before the two officers were attacked.
Prior to the arrival of law enforcement, neighbors reported hearing screams followed by gunshots. Shortly thereafter, the area was swarmed by first responders. Adding to the complexity of the situation, the residence where the police were summoned was engulfed in flames. The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) was called to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire. Online records suggest that the affected property is a multi-family home.
