Sam has been making a massive Kiddush Hashem on and off the field. Many young children that aspire to be athletes look up to people like Sam and see how they can remain Kosher and daven in a Minyan in such an environment.

As 5TC previously stated Salz is the first NCAA football player who is Shomer Shabbos, wears a Yarmulka on the field, and has a love for learning and Judaism.

He chose #39 because of the Lamud Tes Melachos (39 types of work that are forbidden to do on Shabbos), and he won’t play on Shabbos at all, which is about half the games.
