DRS High School continued its week-long mission to Israel. The students came to a mountaintop in Mitzpe Yericho for to enjoy an inspirational kumzits. Rabbi Yisrael Kaminetsky played the piano while the boys sang.
What was this piano doing on the mountaintop?
This was a new outdoor piano, which was recently donated by the New York Syrian Jewish community in memory of a young soldier from Mitzpe Yericho, who used to live in Brooklyn, Ariel Eliyahu Z”L.
Ariel was killed by terrorists in battle on Simchas Torah, on October 7th.
After the inspiring kumzitz, R’ Kaminetsky commented that he felt he had practiced playing piano his entire life for this one incredible moment.
