Legislator Mazi Pilip Reacts to The Schumer Controversy

“I would like to offer a few thoughts on Senator Schumer’s speech last week about the Israeli government.

First, it wasn’t too long ago when Senator Schumer came to Eisenhower Park and spoke at a rally where many people sought to disrupt his speech and heckle him. I stood by the Senator as it was a time for all of us to show solidarity in the aftermath of Hamas’ barbaric attack. So, for those who want to call this statement politics, I say – nonsense.

Today, I must express my disappointment and, yes, anger with him over his comments which call for the ouster of the Prime Minister.

It’s ironic. I haven’t heard the Senator call for change in Iran as they are the State sponsors of terror.

Funny, I haven’t even heard the Senator call for elections with the Palestinian Authority who haven’t held elections in how long?

By the way Senator, what about some regime change in the UN where UNWRA employees were caught taking part in the terror attack? Where is your thunderous voice?

The bottom line is this. Holding Israel to ridiculous standards during a time of war is outrageous. Attacking a democratically ELECTED government because you don’t like it is incredibly arrogant.

It’s time for thoughtful, smart and educated approaches to this war and destroying the real enemy – Hamas.

Senator Schumer’s remarks show clearly that HIS political stability is in peril with the “Squad” and their masked supporters marching in the streets.

It’s time for our leaders to get a backbone and lead instead of pointing fingers and finding scapegoats in order to hide their own weaknesses.”
