The IDF announced early Sunday morning that four soldiers from the Oz Brigade were R”L killed in combat in the southern Gaza Strip.
The soldiers were fatally shot by numerous Hamas terrorists emerging from a tunnel within a damaged structure that they were investigating.
The offensive in Khan Younis achieved its goal, according to the IDF, with the local Hamas brigade dismantled, thousands of gunmen killed, and around 30 kilometers of tunnels destroyed.
The soldiers are identified as follows:
Captain Ido Baruch HY”D, 21, from Tel Mond, serving as a squad commander in the commando training school’s Egoz Unit.
Sergeant Amitai Even Shoshan HY”D, 20, from Azriel, undergoing training in the commando training school.
Sergeant Reef Harush HY”D, 20, from Kibbutz Ramat David, also undergoing training in the commando training school
Sergeant Ilai Zair HY”D, 20, from Keidar, also undergoing training in the commando training school.

Also overnight, the IDF overnight all ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip, after four straight months of fighting in the Khan Younis area.
Only one brigade, Nahal, remains in the Gaza Strip. It is tasked with securing the so-called Netzarim Corridor, which crosses Gaza from the Be’eri area to the coast.
