Inwood: 2 Brooklyn Men Arrested, Loaded Handgun & Multiple Magazines Confiscated

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of two Brooklyn men for an incident that occurred on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10:00 pm in Inwood.

According to detectives, while on routine patrol, Fourth Precinct officers observed a 2005 black 4 door BMW SUV traveling westbound on Sheridan Boulevard without a passenger tail light and an expired registration. Officers initiated a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and Davis Avenue. During the investigation, officers discovered a loaded, defaced 9-millimeter handgun and two ammunition magazines inside the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, Jean Francois, 18, of 1442 E 87th Street and the passenger, Melchizedek Neverson, 18, of 87 Conklin Street, were taken into custody without further incident.

Defendant Jean Francois is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and multiple Traffic Infractions. Defendant Melchizedek Neverson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

Both defendants will be arraigned on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
