Gural JCC to Reopen Monday Morning With Delayed Start Time

0

Dear Gural JCC Families and Staff:

As many of you know, Sunday afternoon the Gural JCC received a bomb threat by email to our general JCC email box. The safety and security of all of our children, families, clients and staff is our highest priority and we take any and all threats very seriously. We immediately contacted the Nassau County Police Department and while there was no one inside our building we did evacuate the parking lot which was being used by another organization. We remained in constant communication with the NCPD and our security team throughout this entire day and evening. The NCPD bomb squad conducted a thorough search of our campus and determined this to be a negative threat and all of our facilities were deemed safe to reenter.

After full consultation with the NCPD and our security team and out of an abundance of caution we will be delaying the opening of our JCC facilities and programs until 9:30am tomorrow (Monday) morning. This includes the ECC opening for children, The S.H.O.P. and our Grove offices for staff and clients. We will also have increased security and police presence at all sites.

Thank you again for your cooperation.

Aaron Rosenfeld, JD
Chief Executive Officer
