One female IDF soldier was R”L killed and two others were injured Moitzei Shabbos in a shooting attack at the Shuafat checkpoint in East Jerusalem, according to police and medics.
The Palestinian gunman apparently arrived on foot and fired at security forces at the checkpoint around 9 p.m. before fleeing into the nearby refugee camp with the help of a car.
A female soldier, 25, was seriously hurt. Officers were searching for suspects in the attack. A man suspected of driving the shooter from the scene turned himself in to police.
United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Chaim Attias who was one of the first responders at the scene relayed: “When we arrived we treated one person approximately 20 years in age who was in critical condition and another person who was in serious condition. Due to the nature of the incident, United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit were dispatched to the scene to treat a number of eyewitnesses.”

Overnight, an IDF soldier was killed after being critically injured in a shooting attack at the Shu'afat checkpoint.
The soldier was evacuated to a hospital for further medical treatment, where she was declared dead.
