Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman released the following statement:
“The Nassau County Police Department is ready!
I’m proactively deploying resources to maintain safety as you go about your day tomorrow.
Our Intelligence Center is monitoring potential threats and I have ordered these additional security resources:
Additional Patrol Cars
BSO (SWAT) in the Community
Community Affairs Officers, POP Cops and PAL Officers on Streets
Detective Division Dispatched
Highway and K-9 on Patrol
Operation Overwatch Patrols
Drone Surveillance
Increased Aviation Patrol Flights
Mounted Unit at Rallies
Marine Bureau on Waterways
Emergency Services and CIRRT Ready
Your safety, and that of your family, is our top priority!”
There are currently no specific threats facing Nassau County. NCPD will increase patrols throughout the weekend outside Jewish institutions. If you see something suspicious say something.
