The IDF announced the tragic death of an IDF officer killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip over Shabbos, bringing the death toll since the start of the ground offensive to 176 R”L:

Lt. Col. Roee Yohay Yosef Mordechay HY”D, 31, a senior commander at the Nahal Brigade’s training base, from Tel Aviv.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a mass barrage of rockets that were fired from Lebanon at the Meron area of northern Israel on Shabbos morning. They said it was in response to the assassination of Saleh al-Arouri.

B’chasdei Hashem, no Israelis were hurt in the attack.

The Chief of the General Staff, the Head of the ISA, the Commanding Officer of the Southern Command and the Head of the Intelligence Directorate held a situational assessment at the heart of Khan Yunis yesterday (Friday).

LTG Halevi spoke with special forces operating in the area, recognizing the challenges they face conducting complex operations in Gaza’s urban areas as well as in Hamas’ underground tunnel networks.

IDF released footage of the elite Egoz commando unit operating in southern Gaza, where troops raided the home of Hamas’s east Khan Younis battalion commander and battled terrorists hiding in a Gazan school.

Troops raided the school and killed three terrorists during the operation. The terrorists were found with RPGs and “a lot of intelligence information” about Hamas’s Khan Younis brigade.

Eliminated: Commander of Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion, Ismail Siraj, and his Deputy Commander, Ahmed Wehbe. During Hamas’ murderous Oct. 7 invasion and massacre, the Nuseirat Battalion was responsible for the attack on Kibbutz Be’eri and other Israeli communities.

The battalion’s operatives have since been involved in anti-tank missile and UAV fire targeting IDF troops during the war. Both senior terrorist leaders were eliminated in an IAF strike directed by IDF and ISA intelligence.
