Update: IDF has established control over Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, and is calling on Hamas terrorists inside to surrender.
So far, some 80 terrorists have been captured by troops.
Israeli intelligence learned that Hamas operatives and commanders were again using Shifa hospital as a command center for their operations.
Following a raid last night, the IDF said it had established control over the area.
No intelligence on hostages being held in the complex.
The IDF has taken out Faiq Mabhouh, a senior Hamas operative. The coward was hiding in a Gaza hospital compound, using the patients and staff as human shields.

Tragically, Staff Sgt. Matan Vinogradov HY”D, 20, was killed battling terrorists in the area of Gaza’s Shifa Hospital. Footage showed Hamas gunmen shooting at troops from the hospital premises and detonating a roadside bomb. Yihi Zichro Baruch.

The operation is based on concrete intelligence information indicating the use of the hospital by senior Hamas terrorists to conduct attacks against Israel.
