Israeli commandos have recovered the body of 47-year-old Israeli hostage Elad Katzir HY”D, who the Islamic Jihad held in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, Katzir was “murdered in captivity by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group.” The operation to retrieve his body was conducted by elite IDF commandos based on intelligence from the Shin Bet. The Islamic Jihad had previously released propaganda videos showing Katzir alive.
Elad Katzir was abducted from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz along with his elderly parents on October 7.

The IDF has eliminated a senior Hamas terrorist who was part of the internal security apparatus in Gaza. Akram Abd al-Rahman Husein Salama, the deputy head of Hamas’ internal security in Khan Younis, was targeted by IDF forces. The IDF stated that Salama was involved in planning and executing significant terror attacks in Israel, as well as advancing major operations in Gaza aimed at harming IDF activities.

Israeli border police officers apprehended a 17-year-old Arab terrorist with a knife taped to his body near the Old City’s Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The suspect’s behavior raised suspicion, leading to a routine check by officers, who discovered the concealed weapon. Prior to his arrest, the suspect posted on social media about seeking satisfaction in paradise.

The IDF has confirmed that a drone was shot down by a Hezbollah surface-to-air missile over southern Lebanon. Hezbollah claims to have downed an Elbit Hermes 450 UAV valued at approximately $2 million.
Despite previous assertions by the IDF that no Hamas terror tunnels had breached Israeli territory since the completion of the underground border fence in 2021, the military has announced the destruction of a tunnel that crossed into Israeli territory. Discovered during the construction of the border fence in 2019, the tunnel had been under secret surveillance. The IDF clarified that the tunnel was not utilized by Hamas during the events of October 7th.
The US and Israel are preparing for a significant Iranian attack in the region as soon as next week, reports say, after the Israeli strike in Syria which killed high-level Iranian commanders.
