Cedarhurst Security Alert; Pictures and Videos

6

5TC has received many concerns from individuals in the community, so we reached out to RNSP to provide us with additional information about the incidents. As always, we thank RNSP for their constant involvement in the safety of our community! (Pictures and video below)

RNSP:

At this point, they have hit Cedarhurst and Inwood pretty hard. They have also been spotted in other parts of our area, most notable Lynbrook.
These are the streets that experienced “porch piracy” and car breakins in Cedarhurst: Oxford Rd., Grant Pl., Lincoln St., Argyle, Marlborough Rd., and Church Av.
These are the streets in Inwood that have experienced the same: Soloff Pl., Healy Ave. Donahue Ave. and Sprague Rd.
We are dealing with no particular location pattern. We are dealing with a white Ford van with multiple occupants. And a separate crew of multiple people in 2 vehicles. 2 or 3 people get out and search vehicles and/or porches and then move on to a next location to do the same. These occurrences are happening around 3:30 and 4 o’clock in the morning. RNSP patrols have been dispatched to have a heavier than normal unmarked patrol presence in Cedarhurst and Inwood at those times. These added patrols will continue until an arrest is made.
Meanwhile, citizens are asked to be mindful of that which they leave in plain sight on their porch. If anyone hears or sees anything suspicious, they should immediately call 911 and the RNSP’s 24 Hour Hotline, 5l6-858-7300.
