Ariel Zohar, the sole survivor of his family following the horrific massacre, received a heartwarming message this week.
Ariel went out on a jog on the morning of October 7th and came back home to find his mother, father, sisters, and grandfather brutally murdered by the Hamas Terrorists.
This week, Ariel turned 13 and celebrated his Bar Mitzvah. He is a huge sports fan, so NFL legends Dez Bryant, DeSean Jackson, and NBA stars Tyler Herro, Michael Porter, Isaiah Thomas, Glen Davis, Terance Mann, Marcus Morris sent him a video with words of encouragement and condolences.
As one can imagine, for Ariel to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah now, under such circumstances must have been so challenging and difficult. These athletes did what they could to try to cheer him up on this important yet bittersweet milestone in his life and we thank them for that.

You realize anyone can do it its a paid subscription. Then again 5 towns look up to sports figures as role models.

@Dandy Dan yes it does. It sense terrible message to a bar mitzvah bachur what his priorities in life are about. If you see leave him alone then unfortunately you are missing on everything in life what is Hashem’s message to us and what it means to be a Jew.
P.S. There are many bar mitzvah kids that have had similar videos and it sends a terrible message
H-shem yeracheim on you. Do you realize this kid just lost his entire family – let him have some “light” in his life. he didnt even ask them to post the messages. It may be true in most situations that sports stars are not the ideal role models for a jewish person, but to judge a person such as him who went through what he did and what he has to now live with … you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing such a perspective/opinion in this case. Pirkei avos talks about “al tadin es chavercha ad she’tagiyah L’mkomo” … you should thank H-shem you are not in his “shoes.” You have no idea what he’s going through and the emotions he has.
